It's difficult with artistic people. One person's hero being another's nightmare. I like Tracey Emin for instance, but is she a great artist? She's certainly become one and will be documented in art history. Do I think she's a great artist? The little jury in my head is out. Is David Bailey a great photographer? Does the Pope s**t in the woods? Of course he is. The cheeky chappy of the 1960's was always a great photographer. Here's a bunch of his iconic portraits which I believe illustrate the point, and guess what, Tracey Emin is one of them.
