The Yuppie List Continues

Since 2006, here on Cup of Jo, we have tracked our embarrassing descent into yuppie territory.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, last night, we witnessed The Yuppie Comment of the year, if not decade. At a dinner party, over thai food and Blue Moon beer, we were told:

"We just went to a wedding in Sri Lanka, where our friend got so drunk that he fell off the edge of the infinity pool."

Gawker does yuppie lists, too!

As you know, we love/hate yuppie comments here on Cup of Jo. Well, this week, media gossip blog Gawker called out Domino magazine for making yuppie comments. After reading Domino, Gawker reports: "Here is the kind of quote we found within. From interior designer David Netto, on his 'signatures': 'Cedric Harman lamps, log baskets, Prouve chairs from Vitra—inevitably, you need one somewhere.' Inevitably. Also, from interior designer Tom Schaerer: 'There’s nothing worse than a dining table with legs at the edge or corners.' Uh. Genocide?"

Hear Ye, Hear Ye: The Yuppie List

Now that I've been dating Alex, we've been spending Friday nights in Park Slope eating stinky cheeses and drinking acidic white wines and just generally acting like yuppies.

Remember last year's yuppie list? With great embarrassment, I think it is time to bring it back.

For example: Last Friday, we were chatting about foods we hated as kids. Alex mused, "When I was growing up, I never liked green beans. But I like them now...you know, haricot verts...."
