Belly shots

Last night, my brother and I went for a bike ride, and I roped him into taking a few belly shots. I'm just over 33 weeks (about 7 1/2 months), and I'm so excited to see our baby boy's teeny face in less than two months! I'm so curious about what he'll look like (and if he'll still resemble a Dr. Seuss character). I have to admit, though, I'm getting a little nervous about the actual birth. I alternate between being super calm and being slightly panicky. It makes me feel better that so many mothers have done it before. When I walk around New York, I catch myself staring at strangers and thinking, "You were born, and you were born, and you were born."

Anyway, thank you, as always, for following along! It's such a pleasure to share everything with you. xo

    P.S. Past belly shots.

(Big thanks to Nick for taking the photos. The navy shirt is from Gap Maternity.)Source URL: https://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/search/label/bikes

My bike helmet

I used to ride around Manhattan without a helmet (busted), but then Alex bought me this Bern version, and I fell in love with it. The shape is more like a skateboarding or ski helmet than a traditional bike one, and it's super comfy and doesn't make your head too hot. (It also looks cute with red lipstick.)Source URL: https://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/search/label/bikes

New York City hammock

Alex and I were riding bikes around town, when we passed this guy Philippe relaxing in a hammock. Intrigued, we pedaled over and asked him where he found it. "Eastern Mountain Sports for $20," he said and explained that he simply ties it to two trees anywhere around the city. "I've been called a lazy bum, but I love it." What a genius idea!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my dad (far right). Whenever I think of hanging out with my dad, I think of hilarious moments. For example, when we went on family road trips, we kids would always have our noses buried in books, so whenever we'd drive by something beautiful, he'd simply yell, "View!" He also taught us the genius of big family lunches (with spicy soups) and adventurous bike rides. I love you. xo

P.S. Is my dad's wavy hair not totally rad?
P.P.S. Is my uncle wearing a top hat?
    P. P.P.S. Is my grandfather wearing Groucho Marx glasses? (If so, awesome. If not, even awesomer.)Source URL: https://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/search/label/bikes

Paris

In nine days, Alex and I will be taking a much anticipated trip to...PARIS!!! I'm so excited! I can't wait to walk around the city and take notes on gorgeous French style. We're taking a dorky but awesome-looking bike tour, and we've both been dreaming about croissants and chocolate mousse. Also, I'd love to have a picnic in the Luxembourg Gardens, and Alex wants us to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, even though I'm scared of elevators. We'll be printing out Jordan's awesome guide, and I will take tons of photos to show you!
So, I'm feeling the urge to buy clothes for the trip (do you ever get that, too?), so while I haven't bought anything for ages, yesterday I splurged on these white jeans. I like that the style is called "matchstick."

Bike love

Do you ever see a sweet bike on the street and wish you could tell the owner how much you like it? (Alex and I are constantly oohing-and-ahhing over Danish numbers; and I bike-stalked this tandem for ages until I finally met the adorable owners.)

So how genius are these bike tags? You can stick them on your favorite bikes all over town and share your bike love!
