SCALABRINE, UPON REALIZING THAT HE WOULD REMAIN 15th ON THE DEPTH CHART, TRASHES LOCAL WAFFLE HOUSE; EATS WRECKAGE
From the Globe:
The Celtics agreed to terms with guards Eddie House and Tony Allen to return, team president Danny Ainge announced today. Both will get two-year contracts. House's deal was made using a portion of the team's $5.5 million mid-level exception. He'll make $2.7 million next season and $2.9 million the year after.
Great move for the Celtics after every indication given was that both of these guys were going to walk without even a serious offer from the team. The Celtics now have a solid backup point and a defensive stopper on the perimeter. It doesn't make up for losing Posey, but it helps. This should be a breakout season for Tony, especially, who played really well in limited time during the postseason. While signing Allen makes it 33% more likely you will have your face shattered in a nightclub brawl in Boston, it also makes the Celtics' bench 80% better.... so the tradeoff is well worth it.
Good to have you back, Eddie and Tony!Source URL: http://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/2008/07/phew-celtics-stop-bleeding-sign-eddie.html
