THE BIG SMOOTH IS BACK AND READY TO RELAX WITH A VENGEANCE
Longtime I*Heart*Celtics favorite, Sam "The Big Smooth" Perkins has been named VP of Player Relations for the Indiana Pacers.
"I'm aware of the things that went on," Perkins said Monday, according to the Indianapolis Star. "True, it's not all their faults. There's a lot reasons for some of the stuff, but there's no excuse for it. ... You just have to hopefully put it in the past and use that stuff as an example.
"I want to face the challenges in front of me and help the players mature in life."
Anything that brings the Big Smooth back into our lives is a very good thing. Most known for being too lazy to bother jumping on jump shots, his three point shots with exactly zero arc on them, his puffy eyes, his superrelaxed disposition on the court and giving thumbs-ups to I*Heart*Celtics wonderboys Sullivan and Chap midgame, we always assumed he was the posterboy for NBA stoners. I always figured he was baked out of his mind at all times, and it didn't really change my mind when I found out he was really into yoga. Maybe that's just rumor and conjecture, because apparently he is going to be a great role model for people like Marquis Daniels, who has a tattoo of someone shooting himself in the face with a shotgun on his arm.
