Genius (and Cheap) Design Ideas

This New York Times slideshow features the genius decor ideas of struggling students. First up: Sarah Lupton and Carolyn McDaniel, students at Duke, used the leftover paint to create wall art.
Architect student Kayt Brumder found drawers on the sidewalk and mounted them on her walls.
Tyler Velten made this puffy chandelier by draping used plastic grocery bags over 11-watt lightbulbs. (A wire-mesh basket around each bulb keeps the chandelier from melting or bursting into flames.)
Michelle Nicholls, a student at Pratt Institute, created diagonal bookshelves made of wood found on the street.
Galen Wolfe-Pauly, a student at the Cooper Union, made a bed frame of stacked honeycomb cardboard.
Young Nam Heller, a 24-year-old illustration student, covered his IKEA shelves with Japanese comic book pages.Source URL: http://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/2008/10/genius-and-cheap-design-ideas.html
