You Don't Need KG to Beat the Knicks

CELTICS USE ALL-AROUND GAME; "SHOCK AND AWE" TACTIC OF STARTING BRIAN SCALABRINE TO CONFUSE AND TERRIFY THE KNICKS; WIN 110-101

Despite missing KG for a game because of a ridiggidydamndonkulous suspension for getting in a slapping contest with a mule-faced Australian, the Celtics beat the New York Knicks tonight. The Knicks are considerably less amusing now that Isiah Thomas is relying on insinuations that his daughter attempted suicide to save his reputation instead of relying on the intern-porking Starbury to testify in court to save his reputation, but come on- this team is still hilarious. The Celtics picked them apart tonight, getting nice contributions for each of the nine players that took the floor.

Rondo had the best line for the Celtics, 7-11 from the floor for 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists against only two turnovers. True, he was matched up against Chris Duhon, but considering Doc Rivers has been playing his mind games with Rondo in the press again, it was a nice "screw you" to his head coach. Why head coaches think that bitching about their young, talented, and still learning point guards to the press will improve things will never make sense to me. Think about it for a second- if your boss walked around telling people in different departments, on the street, and inside your local Subway restaurant that he wasn't sure why your performance has been lacking lately you would quit in about five seconds. It's incredibly passive aggressive. Anyway, Rondo played great and hopefully Doc will spend less time complaining about the guy that steered the team to an NBA title and more time finding suits that aren't offensive to human dignity.

Nice win for the Celtics, props to Scals for starting and playing well, props to Powe for using the slap in the face for not getting the start to fuel a great night, props to Kendrick Perkins and Tony Allen for three blocks apiece, and props to the New York Knicks for their continued dedication to being the league laughingstock.

Up next: the Celtics play the Pistons at home, KG will be back and ready to play full contact pattycake with... I don't know... Will Bynum? Take a boxing class Kevin. Or at least ask Lebron's mom how to throw a punch. Regardless, KG will be fired up and we predict a triple digit victory.Source URL: http://ledger-heath.blogspot.com/2008/11/you-don-need-kg-to-beat-knicks.html
